About

Finding Frontiers is about finding frontiers in the outdoors, fitness, life, family, and everything.

Primary goal? Posterity.

The truth is, the content published here is done so for primarily self-serving reasons. I think we can all agree that the human mind isn’t exactly a vault for memories. While we have a file server full of photos and videos, the context is often lost. Here at Finding Frontiers, we provide context to all of those memories.

As it turns out, posterity is also very practical. How often do you have to look back and try to remember what exactly you didn’t like about a product, or what the experience at a campground was? Posting reviews and notes here allows us to avoid making the same mistakes over and over.

While the primary mission is indeed posterity, we’re also happy to have others tag along and follow us on our adventures.

Breaking all the rules

Writing content for the web requires a surprisingly large rule book. To get noticed you have to bow down to Google’s powerful algorithm, so you show up early in search results. Content is required to follow word counts, possess keywords and keyword phrases, and even meta data that the reader will never see. You also have to spend most of your life on social media drumming up followers.

We don’t do any of that.

Our goal is to create a record of our experiences for posterity and practicality as quickly and efficiently as possible so that we can get right back out there for the next adventure.

Our lack of internet best practices may make us hard to find, but, as with my experience exploring the world, some of the hardest places to find are often the most rewarding.
